Michel Cosnard, President of Inria was elected President of ERCIM at the last ERCIM Board of Directors, held in Brno, Czech Republic, November 4 2010. Michel Cosnard will take office as ERCIM president 1st January 2011 for a two-year term. Michel will succeed Keith Jeffery who served as ERCIM President since January 2005.
Science & innovation
On 17 December 2009, an alliance was established for digital sciences and technologies. It is called Allistene, and it brings together the major French domestic players in the field, namely Inria, the French National Centre for Scientific Research (CNRS), the French Atomic Energy Commission (CEA), France’s Conference of University Chairmen (CPU), the French Telecoms Institute and the Conference of the Heads of French Engineering Schools (CDEFI), with the role of coordinating and planning public research in this area.
