Inria’s Alpage project team: historians and computer scientists unite in the European Parthenos project


Laurent Romary is a computer scientist specialising in automatic analysis of language. Marie Puren has a doctorate in history and a masters in “digital humanity”. The two researchers are members of the Alpage team at Inria's Paris centre and have been working together for eleven months as part of the European Parthenos project which seeks to develop and promote digital processing of data in the human sciences. Both of them emphasize the importance of interdisciplinarity in their work.

The aim of this consortium is to promote Pharo software and its ecosystem, enable the definition of its road map and provide support to the developers and the user community. Among the members of this consortium are industrialists such as Synectique, Thales, Lifeware but also academics such as Inria, the Faculty of Information Technology in Prague and Smalltalk's Fundación Argentina.

Best paper / International Colloquium on Automata, Languages, and Programming (ICALP)


Pierre Bourhis, researcher in the project team Links (shared with the CNRS, Lille University - Science and Technology and the University of Lille - Social and Human Sciences *), received the Best Paper Award Of track B of the 44th ICALP conference to be held next July in Warszawa, Poland.
