Ambiciti measures the animal noise exposure of the Helsinki Zoo


What kind of impact does the city noise have on tigers and other zoo occupants? Helsinki Zoo and Forum Virium Helsinki, the innovation unit of the City of Helsinki, are using smart technology to study the noise experienced by animals and its impacts in collaboration with Inria, the French national research institute on digital sciences and technologies and Ambiciti, a global environmental data service startup company.

Hikob bought by TagMaster


The start-up Hikob, created in 2011 at Inria, has been bought by TagMaster, the leading manufacturer of advanced RFID products and traffic sensors and of ANPR cameras for vehicle identification in traffic and rail solutions.

Connected agriculture, even where there is no network


Creating sensor networks that can provide farmers with complete, real-time and cost-effective information on weather conditions in their fields, even in areas without the Internet of Things, is the aim of the thesis Brandon Foubert has just started at the Inria Lille - Nord Europe research center in collaboration with Sencrop.

Stackilab and Thoth on demonstration at SIDO

Inria is set to participate at SIDO 2019, which will be held in Lyon on 10th and 11th April. This will be the fifth edition of the event showcasing the Internet of Things, artificial intelligence and robotics. Two teams from Inria Grenoble Rhône-Alpes will be making demonstrations involving ongoing projects.

The Open Source Innovation Spring (OSIS) is the event for scientific and technological excellence in the field of free and open source software. Set up by GTLL (Systematic’s thematic group on free and open source software) and Irill (Research and Innovation on Free Software), OSIS aims to showcase the international reach of projects developed thanks to French research and innovation. This year, the event takes place from Thursday 11 May to Monday 26 June 2017.

SIDO 2019

5th edition of SIDO


For its 5th edition, SIDO, a cornerstone event in the world of IoT, is aiming to break down the barriers between different disciplines, combining the IoT, AI & robotics. Inria will present fourteen demos on 10th and 11th April in Lyon, including 5 start-ups, demonstrating the way in which these new companies are able to boost the economic impact of ambitious research projects.

The CeBIT 2014 Computer Trade Show

RIOT: an open source operating system for the Internet of Things

At the occasion of CeBIT (the largest computer trade show in the world, held from March 10th to 14th in Hanover, Germany), Emmanuel Baccelli, researcher at Inria and invited professor at the Freie Universität in Berlin, will present the RIOT operating system, which has been specially designed for the Internet of Things.

DataShape project team to work with Fujitsu

On 19 December 2017, Inria and Fujitsu signed a partnership agreement for a joint research programme on artificial intelligence and big data. Frédéric Chazal, the DataShape Project Team Leader at the Inria Saclay Île-de-France research centre, has committed to a 30-month collaboration as part of the programme.
