Analysis and decoding of brain activity for motor profiling
Analysis and decoding of brain activity for motor profiling

Brain-computer interfaces (BCIs) based on motor brain activity are particularly promising. However, BCIs have so far remained confined to laboratories due to their lack of precision and reliability. This lack of precision stems from excessive variability in the electroencephalographic data recorded, both between users and for the same user across multiple sessions. To ensure that the BCI adapts as closely as possible to its user, we propose to develop a new tool called "D-CodeBrain" which would establish user profiles by analyzing and decoding motor brain activity in response to a single somatosensory stimulation. These detailed profiles would include not only motor brain characteristics, such as frequency bands of interest or signal localization, but also relevant psychological aspects like stress levels, motivation, or fatigue. By providing BCIs with this precise and individualized information, "D-CodeBrain" paves the way for a new generation of BCIs capable of adapting closely to the user's needs. In the longer term, the data collected by "D-CodeBrain" could facilitate research into the potential use of motor brain electrical signals for biometric identification.
